Invest in the Youth
Supporting the youth is one of the ESR’s top priorities and by its ‘Invest in the Youth’ programme the society is funding 1,000 young professionals in training (radiology residents, radiography students, medical physicist residents) every year. This programme is financed exclusively by the ESR to support the continued professional development of radiographers. Update from the ESR Journals Family The ESR is pleased to inform you about the latest happenings within its journals family: The ESR’s flagship journal, European Radiology, received an Impact Factor (IF) for 2017 of 4.027, climbing from 3.967 in 2016! Prof. Yves Menu, Editor in Chief, is thrilled with this news and looks forward to the future development of his journal. Find out

Insights into Imaging remains under evaluation for an IF, and has seen an upward trend in citation numbers and downloads which its Editor in Chief, Prof. Luis Martí Bonmatí, aims to further increase in 2018. The youngest member of the ESR Journals Family, European Radiology Experimental, recently celebrated its one-year anniversary since the online publication of its first articles. The journal, edited by Prof. Francesco Sardanelli, applied in late 2017 for PubMed indexation, whose evaluation is ongoing, and its application for Medline is still being prepared. Read more

first video, Prof. Guy Frija, Chair of EuroSafe Imaging, talks about EuroSafe Imaging’s pioneering role and worldwide collaboration efforts to strengthen quality and safety in medical imaging.
Education on Demand
The e-learning content on Education on Demand is continuously growing:
66 new modules were updated in the first half of 2018. The additional self-assessment, e-learning (videos) and literature modules aim to cover the learning content included in the revised version of the
European Training Curriculum for Radiology Levels I & II.
ETAP 2.0 The NEW ETAP 2.0 started its activity right after the ECR 2018 and its first certificates of excellence will be issued shortly. The first applicants have found the ETAP 2.0 assessment system and its user-friendly new platform to be reliable and useful. Join them and get your training programme to be among the first programmes in obtaining the ETAP 2.0 certificate of excellence!

EBR Bulletin From October onwards, the European Board of Radiology (EBR) will have its own communications channel: the EBR bulletin. This online magazine will be released four times a year and will include dedicated contents about projects managed by the EBR: the Accreditation Council in Imaging (ACI), the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR), and the European Training Assessment Programme (ETAP 2.0).The EBR Bulletin will be distributed among all ESR members.
